Tendering and Building Contracts are two topics closely related to procurement routes.

 

Tendering process usually occurs between Stage 2 and early Stage 4 (RIBA Plan of Work 2020) depending on different procurement routes. It is a process of inviting bids from external parties for projects undertaken by government and private bodies (client).

 

Once an ideal contractor is chosen after tendering, building contracts will need to be agreed between the two parties (Client and selected Contractor). In a contract, the rights and obligations are created by the acts of agreement between the parties to the contractual arrangement. For different procurement routes, there will be a series of available contracts specified for per procurement routes.
